Well, dogs need to be cared for in winter just like humans do. It’s important that they stay inside where it’s warm and dry because cold weather can harm them. If you keep your dog outside, your home will also be uncomfortable for you. Make sure you give your dogs water every day so they don’t become dehydrated at all.
You should also provide them with extra blankets if they need them for warmth! If you have problems with dogs digging up the ground, try getting gravel or artificial turf (which does not freeze) instead of lawn. It might be a little more expensive but it’s worth it. And one last tip, if your dog is very old or has health problems, it’s best that they stay inside as much as humanly possible.
Oh and also remember that all dogs need exercise to keep them healthy. Make sure you take them out on a walk at least twice a day (one long and one short) for a brisk walk. It’s best to not walk them in the middle of the day because it might get too hot and they will be more tired out when you get home. Also, when your dog is outside in winter, make sure they wear a sweater and booties!
